Capt. R.K.Karnal completed his academics in the year 1970, and joined the Training Ship “DUFFERIN”, to begin his Sea career. After going through several Mercantile Marine Department Examinations achieved his Masters’ (F.G) in the year 1980. From 1981 to 1993 he served as Master of various Sea Going Merchant Vessels operating all over the world.

He served following companies during his career at sea. He began his career with Great Eastern Shipping and served on their tankers, Bulk careers and General Cargo ships for a period of 12 years. As a Captain he was regarded as one of the top cadres of Masters in the Company.

Wallem Shipmanagement, Hong Kong - Serving on board Joergen Jahre Tankers (Crude Oil, Product tankers etc.,) and also supervising their dry docking and repair operations from shore aspects. His extensive exposure to tanker operations earned him very high position and regard in the Company.

During his tenure with Wallem Shipmanagement he was the chief organizer of the ISO 9002 class on board their vessels and also set up OPA 90 system on board their tankers plying in U.S. waters.

Besides above he also served on Iranian Tankers and Libyan Tankers, in the capacity of a Captain of V.L.C.C’s and product careers.After gaining 12 years of experience as Captain of various ships and during this period assisting shore management in operating ships, decided to come ashore permanently. In 1993 he joined the Esquire Shipping & Trading Pvt. Ltd. Since then he has been holding the reins of the company and maneuvering it from success to success.
